Outreach Offshore Ltd recently completed a comprehensive extended 5-year service and refurbishment for two PTM600 quayside cranes. This strategic maintenance project was delivered to ensure continued operational reliability, reduce the risk of failure, and extend the service life of critical lifting equipment in a demanding marine environment.

The extended service program focused on both preventative and restorative tasks, carried out efficiently on-site. Key activities included:

  • Rust removal from structural/mechanical components with targeted repainting using marine-grade coatings to prevent corrosion
  • Replacement of key hydraulic components and hoses
  • Full hydraulic and gear oil exchange
  • Rigorous electrical testing to confirm system integrity and compliance to aid in the detection of any future faults
  • Identification and replacement of any worn or high-risk components to minimise unplanned downtime and prevention of future breakdown

At Outreach Offshore Ltd, we take Preventative Planned Maintenance (PPM) to a new level. This project exemplified our commitment to going beyond standard checks, by proactively identifying and addressing potential failure points before they escalate. The PTM600 crane refurbishments were not only a service interval but a strategic overhaul to future-proof a vital asset for our customer.

The refurbished PTM600 cranes are now fully operational with enhanced reliability, safety, and efficiency. The client benefits from increased peace of mind, knowing their equipment has been maintained to the highest standards, reducing the risk of future disruptions and extending the crane’s operational lifespan.
